Sparky’s Rally For The Rescue!

Sparky’s Rally For The Rescue at The Buffalo Chip Saloon is being held as a fundraiser to help cover the costs of this year’s extremely high-need, high-dollar medical cases taken on by SPR. We often take on those cases that other organizations cannot, or will not, handle. We believe that every dog deserves a chance, and as a result, we often incur very costly medical bills for hip surgeries, broken bones, severe physical trauma and more.

Just one of the dogs that will benefit from the proceeds of this event is Sparky. Sparky, a 10-month old German Shepherd, is the poster boy for “backyard breeders.” He was born with congenitally defective hips, as well as a deformed paw, which makes is difficult and painful for him to run and play as a normal puppy. Sparky will require extensive hip surgery, at a cost of over $5,000, to repair the damage he was born with due to irresponsible breeding. Sparky, and others like him, would not be alive today without the extensive veterinary care, physical therapy and ongoing care we provide in order to ensure these dogs find a happy and safe forever home.
